Former open-cut mine redeveloped with solar, wind turbines and industrial buildings

Virentia ReGen

Land to productive industry.

New projects originated on land we hold, acquire, or lease.

Virentia ReGen is an independent development division. It originates, structures and delivers projects in biofuels, energy, natural capital, circular economy, property and agriculture.

We see what land could be, not what it was. Wherever a policy driver creates demand the market is yet to meet, a community wants the investment, and underused land sits waiting, ReGen is there to make the project happen. Land is almost always the constraint, and our advantage.

We act as lead developer on each project, taking a position and carrying the development risk. We bring together project partners committed to long-term outcomes and, where a project needs it, a specialist consortium to deliver it.

Our focus is underutilised land: rehabilitated mine sites, surplus industrial land and holdings that are overlooked or constrained. We put that land back into productive use, whether it is land we already hold or land we secure for a project.

Land we already hold

Rehabilitated or degraded land acquired through Virentia ReHab, ready as a platform for a new purpose.

Land we secure

Bought, optioned or leased from a landowner, including sites we find for a project already in development. Where an owner wants to keep the title, we put a project on the site without moving it.

Whatever the source, we assess the site on its fundamentals: existing infrastructure, zoning, buffer distances, logistics access and grid connection. That assessment sets the strongest long-term commercial use, agreed with the landowner, government, Traditional Owners and community.

The industries we develop

Aerial view of a large feedstock plantation on marginal land

Biofuels

Feedstock crops such as pongamia, grown at scale on underutilised or marginal land unsuited to conventional agriculture, and developed against offtake for biodiesel, renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel.

Energy

Solar, wind and battery storage on rehabilitated and underused land, developed in conjunction with our sister company Renewable Energy Partners: Virentia brings the site and the civil platform, REP the utility-scale development capability.

Natural capital

End-to-end origination, management and sale of environmental products and environmental offsets, for our own portfolio and for third-party landowners.

Circular economy

Resource recovery, materials reprocessing and waste-management infrastructure that turns a closure footprint into an operating asset.

Property

Light industrial, logistics and residential subdivision development on sites with strong location fundamentals.

Agriculture

Where this is the logical outcome, land returns to productive agricultural or grazing use rather than sitting idle. Every site gets an end use.

Across all of them, projects are structured to be bankable from the outset: a secured land position, contracted revenue where the market allows it, and a clear approvals pathway.

Who we work with

  • Landowners who want their land working harder, whether they sell, lease or keep the title.

  • Investors seeking asset-backed, contracted returns.

  • Offtakers who need supply the market does not yet provide.

  • Development partners with complementary capability that deliver better outcomes.
